Water Resources of Arkansas

2012 Fayetteville Shale Symposium

Many agencies and scientist are collecting water-resources related scientific data in the Fayetteville
Shale area of Arkansas. This is a symposium to bring these scientists together to share their
information and the results from their studies. The USGS, Arkansas Water Resources Center and the
Arkansas Section of AWRA are co-sponsoring this symposium and pleased to announce the
following keynote speakers:

  • Mark Boling, Executive Vice-President, Southwestern Energy
  • Scott Ausbrooks, Geo-Hazards and Environmental Geology Supervisor, Arkansas Geological Survey
  • Michael Overbay, Coordinator, Region 6 Groundwater Center; USEPA
  • Dr. Ian Duncan, Research Scientist, Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin
